Europe in 90 days!!!!

As you have alredy read here in my blog, I want to be Luxembourg's Great Duke; and you have commented -generally with a critic- that it isn't realistic. I know that, so I have another wish. I want to travel by Europe in 3 months (90 days). To my trip I had chose June, July and August of 2013. The first stop is the Great Britain, then is France, after it there is Germany, and later are the Netherlands. Then I would go to the north: Denmark and Sweden. My next stop is Czech Republic. The most important part of Europe: Luxembourg, Switzerland, Lietchtenstein and Austria are the next places. Then, going to the Mediterranean Sea, there's Greece and its islands. Talking about Greece, I think that that is the place of Europe that anyone can be fun, I recomend it. Again with the trip, I would go to Sicily and Italy. To change a little bit, the next stop is Tunisia, in Africa. And back in Europe there are Spain and Portugal. With that place I finish my trip. Here I am going to put some pictures:

A Happy Christmas

On December of 1912, Europe was in war. The continent was divided into two bands: The Triple Alliance (Germany, Italy and Austro-Hungarian Empire), and the Triple Entente (Russia, United Kingdom and France). In the village of Marseille, in France; German troops were fighting against French and British ones. It was winter, so the weather was very cold. The Germans had occupied the farm of the center of the town, so French and British soldiers couldn’t have food.

A Danish singular, Anna Sörensen; was singing for the German generals in the base located in Lyon (The Germans had captured the city). She wanted to go to the battlefield to sing to the soldiers, who weren’t happy in Christmas Eve. Anna went with his husband, Anthonie Edhimborg; a Dutch singer and German soldier. At Marseille, she started to sing the song “I dream with my home”. The priest who was in the British camp, started to play the bag-pipe with the same melody. Both armies started to sing the same song. Anthonie Edhimborg got out of the trench at the same time of the priest. Both people talked and the British and German armies also got out and started to talk. The French soldiers were surprised; how in middle of the war; some soldiers, enemy soldiers, could talk like this!

The French general, Louis D’ Marion, got out of his trench. He talked with his German and British counterparts and they decided not to fight in Christmas celebration, a comfortable decision for their soldiers. At 9:00 p.m., 24th of December, the priest gave a mass to all the soldiers. But 4 days passed and the 3 armies were more and more friendly. They were happy with each other. Some people say that the played a soccer game! A French soldier wrote a letter to his mom in Paris in which he told her all the story. They were at war, therefore his letter was spied by the French government in Paris. The Germans had a complice in Paris that sent all the information to Lyon. The German soldiers were sent to fight at the west of Prusia to fight against Russia. The British general was changed and French one was taken to recover Lyon. We can say that the German, British and French soldiers had, at the first time during all war, a Happy Christmas.

Patty the Milkmaid and her Pail

Patty the Milkmaid was going to market carrying her milk in a Pail on her head. As she went along, she began calculating what she would do with the money she would get for the milk.
"I'll buy some fowls from Farmer Brown," said she, "and they will lay eggs each morning, which I will sell to the parson's wife. With the money that I get from the sale of these eggs, I'll buy myself a new dimity frock and a chip hat; and when I go to market, won't all the young men come up and speak to me!"
"Polly Shaw will be that jealous; but I don't care. I shall just look at her and toss my head like this." As she spoke she tossed her head back, the Pail fell off it, and all the milk was spilt. So she had to go home and tell her mother what had occurred.
"Ah, my child," said the mother, and Patty had to go again for more milk.

The Luxembourg's Monarchy

When you hear the word Monarchy, you think in what movies had made we think about Monarchy (Complicated and boring dances, the Queen, the King, the Prince and the Princess). But in the actual XXI century, it's a way to manage a country -in some cases, better than the democracy- in which the people give the power to a person -in Luxembourg's case, the Great Duke- that they think can manage the country by his or her own, with Royal Ministers and Parliamentaries help.

In Luxembourg they vote to select the Parliament for a period of 6 years. After that, the Parliamentaries select a Great Duke for a period of also 6 years. Looking this, you can think that Luxembourg is a democracy, but the difference is that the Great Duke can do what he wants, not like here in Colombia thet the President must have autorization of Congress, Cameras, Courts, Judges, sometimes Generals; a good and bad thing. If the Great Duke isn't a good Monarch, the country'll be bad because there's nothing that stops him. But if he's a good one, there's no risk that some politicians stole the nation's money. That's why the Luxembourgers have so much confidence till the Great Duke. The actual Great Duke is called Henri V, and his wife is Cuban! How do they let a Cuban to be the wife of the Great Duke? Ah, obviusly, COLOMBIANS, like me, MUST CAN.
I aspire to one day become Luxembourg's Great Duke, Your highness, Juan Felipe Bonivento. Also you, that are reading this blog must say me, in a future, Majesty.

My Movie

Today I am going to comment about one movie: Merry Christmas; or Joyeux Nöel, originally, in French. This movie, directed by the French Christian Carrion, is a mixture of English, French, German, Scottish and Austrian actors and actrices. It was filmed on 2005 and in the same year, 1 month after its premier, it had the most audience in Germany, England and U.S.A., and was into the first 5 in France and Austria. Also it won 3 Golden Globe awards and was nominated to 2 "Oscar": Best foreign language movie and Best character.

I like this movie because either it is a very good story that´s about how English, French and German soldiers decide to pass a happy Christmas Eve joined stopping war; each soldier, of each country speaks his language, so part of the movie is to see how did they made to understand each other. I hope you decide to see this movie because I recomend it.
